About Our School

Vision

College for All is more than a motto—it is our promise.

SGP Early College High School envisions a future where every student, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to rigorous academic opportunities, meaningful support, and a clear pathway to college and career success.

Mission

SGP ECHS's mission is to ensure college for all by providing equitable access to rigorous coursework, intentional academic and social-emotional supports, and meaningful college experiences. Through strong partnerships and high expectations, we empower students to earn college credit, develop critical skills, and graduate prepared to succeed in higher education, career pathways, and as engaged members of their communities.

About Our School

GPISD has partnered with Mountain View College to offer Early College High School (ECHS) at South Grand Prairie High School. Early College High Schools are innovative high schools that provide students with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma while earning up to 60 college credit hours.

SGP ECHS is open to all incoming 9th-grade students and specifically encourages participation by diverse student groups who are typically underrepresented in college courses.  Interested students should possess a high level of commitment, academic tenacity and show the potential to do college-level work while in high school.

Early College High Schools will:

  • Create a means to higher education for first-generation college-going students
  • Provide dual credit at not cost to students
  • Increase college attendance and success rates for all students
  • Offer rigorous instruction and accelerated courses
  • Provide academic and social support services to help students succeed
  • Increase college readiness, and
  • Reduce barriers to college access
