Auto Technician I & II
 
 
 
 
 
 

This course is a continuation of the ASE/NATEF curriculum and standards designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position in the Automotive Technology field. The areas of instruction are Electricity and Electronics, Suspension and Steering, Brakes and Engine Performance. Students wishing to enter this program must meet all requirements. Students must have all required safety wear as listed in the prerequisite class. These items are the students’ responsibility. Safety and job skills will be addressed in this high tech field of study. These classes will be taught at the SGPHS.

Auto Tech II is the last portion of a 2 year course which goes into a more detailed instruction of the areas such as Engine performance and the other areas listed in Auto Tech I. This course allows students who qualified for the program to also work in the afternoon if they have senior release.  Student that completes these classes is eligible to take the ASE Certification test after one year of field experience. This course will be taught at the SGPHS.
